A featherweight bout between recent Strikeforce and Bellator fighter Chad Robichaux (11-2) and two-time UFC fighter Joseph Sandoval (6-2) is slated for Legacy Fighting Championships 11.
Legacy officials today confirmed the matchup with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).
Legacy Fighting 11 takes place May 11 at Houston's Arena Theater. The night's main card, including Robichaux vs. Sandoval, airs on HDNet.
Both big-show vets look to snap out of recent losing streaks.
Robichaux, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, opened his career in 1999 with a perfect 11-0 record, which included 10 straight submission victories and then a split-decision victory over Humberto DeLeon at "Strikeforce: Houston" in 2010. However, he then suffered a TKO non-title loss to Zach Makovsky at Bellator 41, and he followed it with a submission defeat to Jonathan Mackles at Legacy Fighting 7 this past summer.
The former Marine and MBA grad now meets Texas fighter Sandoval, who opened his career in 2010 with a 6-0 record. After Shark Fights wins over Sean Shakour and Randy Hinds, he signed with the UFC. However, the UFC released him this past month following knockout losses to Walel Watson and Nick Denis (in an average time of 50 seconds each).
