The UFC is headed back to Canada. This time, they’re coming to Calgary.
MMAWeekly.com sources today confirmed the promotion’s intention to hold an event at the Scotiabank Saddledome on July 21, which is likely to be promoted as UFC 149. Sportsnet first reported news of the card.
The event would be the UFC’s first trip to Calgary, after making previous Canadian stops in Vancouver, Montreal, and Toronto. The July show will likely be the first Canadian UFC card for 2012.
The UFC previously planned to hold its first Canadian show of 2012 in Montreal with UFC 145 on March 24. Plans fell through, however, and the event was rescheduled to take place in Atlanta on April 21.
As of now, there are no fights reported for the July card, but MMAWeekly.com will update as more information becomes available.
