Joshua Wood : Joe Stevenson Signs Multi-fight Deal with Resurrection Fighting Alliance

Mixed Martial Arts veteran and Ultimate Fighter season 2 winner Joe “Daddy” Stevenson has signed a multi-fight deal with the upstart MMA promotion Resurrection Fighting Alliance. The Nebraska based promotion will be hosting their second fight card on March 30^th from the Viaero Event Center in Kearney. Stevenson hasn’t fought since losing to Javier Vazquez at UFC Live last June.
“We are very excited to have him (Joe Stevenson), as he brings a never say die in your face approach to MMA that the fans love. He will not be fighting on our March 30th card, but we expect him to be on a card in late spring or early summer,” said RFA matchmaker Scott Cutbirth.

Including winning the Ultimate Fighter, Stevenson would open his UFC career with a record of 5-1 after his first six fights to earn a title shot against BJ Penn at UFC 80. Stevenson would lose his bid for the title as Penn would submit him following a brutal and bloody beating.
Stevenson was never the same after that fight and would only win three more times over the final 10 fights inside the Octagon. After losing four in a row, Stevenson became the fourth TUF winner to be released by the UFC and he has yet to return to action.
RFA 2 will be headlined by a light heavyweight main event between heavy hitters Houston Alexander and Gilbert Yvel.
