UFC on Fuel Sanchez Vs Ellenberger: Picks from Fight Chicks Featuring Elaina Maxwell

Former Strikeforce fighter and now fighting for RFA in Nebraska on March 30th, Elaina Maxwell returns as "fight chick solo" making "UFC on Fuel TV: Sanchez vs Ellenberger" fight predictions. Her fight picking partners (Danielle and Alexis) have either just fought this past weekend or are about to fight soon.

First, an update from Danielle and Alexis

Danielle West defeated Jorina Baars by TKO in the third round on Feb. 11 at "Girl Fights Only 7 (GFO 7)" in the Netherlands. Danielle shared through Facebook that her next scheduled match will take place in Russia on April 1st.

Alexis Davis is just a couple of weeks away from her bout with former Strikeforce champion, Sarah Kaufman on March 3rd. This fight will be contested on the prelims for the Strikeforce: Tate vs Rousey championship fight, but on a different channel. The prelims air on Showtime Extreme. The main show airs on Showtime.

Elaina Maxwell's Fight Predictions: UFC on Fuel TV 1

Elaina Maxwell, who fought Gina Carano back in 2006, Miesha Tate in 2008 and also her fight picking partner, Alexis Davis, in 2010, recently traveled to Tiger Muay Thai in Thailand. Here's a vlog of her visit and training video

An important notice for fans who haven't had access to Fuel TV, you might have it now. Check with your cable provider because, in a post I published last week, 8 Million Free Previews for 'UFC on Fuel TV Sanchez Vs Ellenberger', have been made available. If you are one of the lucky ones getting this free preview, please add the channel to your line up. Cable companies need encouragement from UFC fans who want their Fuel TV. Now, onto Elaina's picks.

Diego Sanchez (23-4) vs. Jake Ellenberger (26-5)

"We all know how mean and focused Diego Sanchez can be, but Jake Ellenberger has been on a winning streak as of late. Ellenberger is quite a bit taller than Sanchez as well, so if Sanchez doesn't take this fight to the ground, then Ellenberger will definitely have the advantage. My fight prediction is Diego Sanchez by GNP or submission in the 3rd round."

Stefan Struve (22-5) vs. Dave Herman (21-2)

"These two fighters are very evenly matched as far as their record and weight go. It seems as though Struve has more submission wins under his belt, and Herman has more than a few TKO wins, so this fight, without a doubt, will be a classic match up for the fans to see. My prediction is Herman wins by TKO in the 2nd round. Go USA! Sorry, I am biased."

Aaron Simpson (11-2) vs. Ronny Markes (12-1)

"I am excited for this bout because Ronny Markes brings a rigorous style. However, age and experience may be a factor in this fight. I won't be biased in this fight. My prediction is—Ronny Markes wins by decision at the end of the 3rd round. Vai Brasil!"

Stipe Miocic (7-0) vs. Phil De Fries (8-0)

"Someone is going home with their very first loss of their professional career on Wednesday night. Who will it be? This again, is a classic striker versus grappler match with De Fries being the formidable grappler and Miocic being the striking technician, so it's really who will make the first mistake. My prediction is De Fries by submission in the 3rd round."

Cheryl's Quick Picks

I'm surprised to find that all of my picks (except one) are exactly opposite of Elaina's. That's not usually a good sign for me.

Ellenberger: . I know Diego is going to be a tough fight, but I don't think he has a granite chin. Picking Ellenberger to win.

Struve: I believe the taller man, Struve, will win. I wonder if they will try to neutralize each other's strengths by spending a lot of time fighting off the cage instead of on the ground or striking. Picking Struve to win.

Simpson: It's hard to pick against a young and strong Brazilian, but I'm going to anyway. Picking A-Train Simpson to win.

De Fries: A British submission specialist against a knock-out artist. Tough one. Picking De Fries to win.
