Addison Sports Management and Media Signs Top Atom-weight Prospect Liz McCarthy

Liz "Lightening" McCarthy

Addison Sports Management and Media continues to represent the top prospects and elite woman in MMA. Liz "Lightening" McCarthy would fall into the category of emerging top prospects. She is currently 6-0 as an amateur in the straw-weight division with a submission and title against highly regarded Jordan McDonald in Tuff-n-Uff August of 2011. Since then she has fought in her native state of Oregon for Chael Sonnen's FCFF promotion with a split decision win over Liz Tracey.

"We received a call from Scott McQuarry of Rise Above MMA in Oregon inquiring as to whether we would be interested in representing Liz in her move to a career as a pro. I was familiar with her and the fact that she came from such a reputable camp, I knew that she was fully committed to a career in MMA. I was impressed with her movement and the speed and angles at which she could strike. She also has a very good base and is aware of her position in a variety of scenario's in the cage. That coupled with her ground game and wrestling made for a very attractive representation. We know that Liz doesn't struggle with making the weight at 115, so after a conversation with her she shared that she would be most effective at 105. Which I completely agreed with."

Given that Liz is looking to make her pro debut at Atom-weight, there are of course some interesting options out there. McCarthy is a great addition to the growing roster of top level woman fighters that are signing with ASMM. They also have Jessamyn Duke who is also looking to make her pro debut as well and we expect great things from both of these woman.

There is nothing signed yet for Liz but look to see her in the cage early in the summer.
