
It took all 3 matches (and 9 periods) for 48 kg/105 lbs. U.S. Open winner Clarissa Chun to make her second Olympic team.
The Hawaiian Chun faced challenge bracket winner Alyssa Lampe in a two out of three match Olympic team qualifying final. Chun received a bye after winning her fourth U.S. Open. Lampe fought hard to stay in the hunt, but Chun took the last period with her experience and skill.
Chun is the only woman to ever qualify for the U.S. Olympic team twice. With her victory, Missouri Valley College has wrestlers in two of the four spots in the Olympics.

In the other final, Massachusetts’s Elena Pirozhkova was able to fend off challenger Adeline Gray in two straight matches in the U.S. Olympic team 63 kg/138.75 lbs Olympic team qualifying match. The 25 year old Pirozhkova recived a bye into the final match due to her winning her fouth straight U.S. Open. It will be on her first Olympic team.
Jennifer Page (63kg) and Victoria Anthony (48kg) came in third place.
Chun and Pirozhkova join Stefany Lee (72 kg) and Kelsey Campbel (55 kg) on the U.S. Olympic Wrestling team as they head to the London Olympics July 27.
