Monica Lovato Returns Against Sarah Alpar At KOTC: “Nightmare”

0

King Of The Cage: “Nightmare” takes place on May 12th at the Buffalo Thunder Resort and Casino in Santa Fe, New Mexico and features the return of Monica Lovato as she battles Sarah “Too Sweet” Alpar for the inaugural KOTC 125-pound championship.
As a boxer, Lovato compiled an amazing record of 10-2 as an amateur and 12-1 as a pro, winning several world titles in the process. In 2009, she set her sights on MMA and won her first four fights, all via stoppages. In her fifth fight of that year, she ran into top ranked Barb Honchak and suffered her first defeat, via a rear-naked choke late in the second round. She would rebound with a TKO win in her next fight over Alyx Hess, but would then drop a close decision to Japanese veteran Windy Tomomi in September 2010. Now, after a year-and-half layoff, Lovato (5-2) returns to the cage in search of another title. Alpar (2-1) made her pro debut in July 2011 with a third round armbar submission over Mariah Reed. She followed that with an unanimous decision victory over Erica Torres just four weeks later. In October, she would suffer her lone defeat at the hands of Heather Clark, via a third round rear-naked choke. Alpar now looks to not only get back on her winning streak, but looks to claim some gold of her own.
