Press Release: Sophia Bagherdai (@sofinator08) makes new home with XFC

The talented and beautiful womens MMA fighter Sofia Bagherdai has come to terms on a long term deal with Xtreme Fighting Championships (XFC). A move that will give the Wand Fight Team member a steady schedule of fights and the opportunity to face some of the best talent in Women’s MMA. XFC President John Prisco announced the signing today, making Bagherdai the newest edition of women’s mma competitors to sign with the promotion on a long term deal, this year. The other women’s fighter signed by XFC this year, Heather Clark, will be the welcoming committee for Bagherdai at XFC’s June event in Nashville.
“I’m really excited to have added Sophia to our women’s division. We have been doing at least 1 female fight on our cards for a while now, and with our new additions, we will be able to start doing 2 women’s fights on some of our cards,” XFC President John Prisco announced. “Sophia had a tough fight in April, but I saw a lot of things to be excited about. She’s an aggressive striker, and she has a solid ground game as well. She is going to put on some great fights inside our XFC cage.”
Bagherdai will take on a tough opponent in her first fight with XFC, when she meets Heather Jo Clark; a product of the Jackson-Winklejohn’s gym. The two fighters have matching (4-2) records entering XFC 18 at a catch weight of 120lb and their similar styles will make for an exciting match-up that will have the Nashville fans on their feet, come June 22.
“I’m excited for the national exposure, but most of all I’m excited on how much XFC focuses on their fighters,” said Bagherdai. “I know Heather Clark is a tough opponent, but I also know that everyone that steps in this promotions cage is a tough opponent. I train hard for every opponent, I am sure that Heather and I will put on a great fight for the fans.”
