Strikeforce on Tuesday made its July 14 Rockhold vs. Kennedy fight card at the Rose Garden in Portland, Ore., official. Not only did they firm up the already reported main card, featuring Luke Rockhold defending his middleweight title against Tim Kennedy and a battle for the vacant welterweight belt, but they also revealed three preliminary bouts.
Portland’s own Pat Healy has verbally agreed to fight Mizuto Hirota on the preliminary portion of the card that will air on Showtime Extreme. Other announced prelims include Jordan Mein vs. Tyler Stinson and Jason High vs. Nate Moore.
Aside from Rockhold vs. Kennedy, the main card on Showtime also features Tyron Woodley vs. Nate Marquardt, Keith Jardine vs. Roger Gracie, and Robbie Lawler vs. Lorenz Larkin.
Tickets for the event go on sale Friday, June 1, to the general public at the Rose Quarter Box Office and Safeway/TicketsWest outlets. UFC Fight Club members have access to a special pre-sale on Wednesday, while Strikeforce Insider newsletter subscribers get an early shot at tickets on Thursday.
