Alexis Davis: Counting the Days and Joining Cesar Gracie

Alexis Davis has made a decision to move to California. Her recent departure from her longtime coach, Dave Dayboll has left her in a quandary of what do next in terms of her continued training and development. Her comment on her Facebook page simply stated: "I am disappointed to say I no longer train under Dayboll Jiu-Jitsu. Although we have decided to part ways I still hope the Best for them and there students."

After her recent performance in Strikeforce on  March 3, 2012 on the Tate vs. Rousey card. It was learned that there were some disagreements regarding the "game plan" with Dayboll. She had recently relocated to Florida to train with Dayboll Jiu Jitsu full-time. However proceding the performance the two decided to amicably part ways.

In a highly controversial split decision Kaufman received the nod and her hand raised. The fight is regarded to be the "fight of the night" and looks to be the "fight of the year" in Woman's MMA.

Davis has since then been entertaining offers and invitations from camps from all over the U.S. She has recently decided that she will relocate to the San Francisco area and receive her black belt under world class black belt Lana Stefanic who with accomplishments include a black belt under Cesar Gracie:

* ADCC 2009 North American Trials winner
* 143 – 0 – 0 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
* 54 – 3 – 0 No-gi
* 2009 Mundials Brown/Blackbelt Heavyweight Champion
* 2009 Mundials Brown/Blackbelt Absolute Champion
* ADCC 2007 Finalist
* 4x PanAm Gold Medalist
* 6-0 MMA record

In a conversation with Invicta's Sam Wilson it is further learned that in joining Stefanic, Alexis would fall under the banner of Cesar Gracie. " Cesar is very excited at the prospect of working with Alexis and she would be welcome at our facilities and affiliates in California that include the Diaz brothers and "Scap Pack which is owned by Strikeforce's Gilbert Melendez. The opportunities for her growth and development out here lend themselves to a growing population of  Woman's MMA here on the west coast. We look for her to thrive out here and broaden her skill-set and style."

Davis recently told her management at Addison Sports Management and Media of her decision: "Alexis is moving forward and counting the days to get out to California to train. She will return home to Ontario, Canada breifly to spend time with her family and then it is planned that she will arrive in Oakland in mid April where she plans to prepare for the Mundials there."

It is not known who her next opponent is at this time but the speculations are vast and unconfirmed at this time.
