Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has established herself as the top dog at 135lbs, and hopes to prove it again in her next bout.
She faces former champion Sarah Kaufman in a title fight currently rumored to take place on Aug 18 in San Diego.
With the fight still more than two months away, the odds have already been released for the showdown between Rousey and Kaufman and as expected, the champion opened as a monstrous favorite.
According to oddsmaker Nick Kalikas of BetOnFighting.com, Rousey has opened as a whopping -475 favorite to win in her first title defense.
Meanwhile, Kaufman comes in as a decided underdog with +325 odds as she tries to recapture the belt she held once upon a time.
Rousey won the belt with a first round submission over former champion Miesha Tate back in March, as she claimed another victim with her vicious armbar submission. Kaufman fought on the same card that night and won a decision over the always tough Alexis Davis.
Can Kaufman avoid the ground game of the former Olympic Judo player? Or are the odds spot on for what’s about to go down in Strikeforce come August?
