Following the loss of Mike Kyle in his co-main event fight against Gegard Mousasi at Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey on March 3 in Ohio, a different fight has been promoted to the main card.
The bout between Scott Smith and Lumumba Sayers has been bumped up, which also means Mousasi will not be getting a replacement opponent for the upcoming show at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus.
Sources close to the situation confirmed the main card shuffle to MMAWeekly.com.
The remainder of the undercard remains the same with those fights airing on Showtime Extreme.
As for Gegard Mousasi, the loss of Kyle in a co-main event fight, made it tough to find another opponent on short notice to fill in adequately. Instead it appears Mousasi will wait to fight another day and on another card.
Strikeforce has yet to announced the move or what kind of shuffle this will do to the main card in regards to which fight will be dubbed the new co-main event.
