Former UFC welterweight Karo Parisyan continues his comeback path on June 16 as he returns at ShoFights and will now face former UFC competitor John Gunderson in the main event.
Originally, Parisyan was set to face former Ultimate Fighter competitor Shamar Bailey in the headline fight, but injury has forced the Indiana native out of the bout, and Gunderson has opted to step in to replace him.
Parisyan’s management team at Apex Sports Agency confirmed the switch to MMAWeekly.com on Friday.
John Gunderson comes into the fight with Parisyan following a win over Team Alpha Male fighter Justin Buccholz at Superior Cage Combat in February.
The former UFC and IFL veteran will step up to 170lbs to challenge Parisyan in the main event.
Parisyan vs. Gunderson headlines the ShoFights card which features several UFC and Pride veterans in a show that takes place in Springfield, MO on June 16.
